What are the precautions for flame cutting

2020-03-04

Flame cutting is one of the commonly used cutting methods. What are the precautions for flame cutting?

1. Preheating temperature and flame power, including the flow of acetylene and oxygen, will increase with the increase of steel plate thickness.

2. If the cutting nozzle adopts diffusion type and oxygen curtain type, the flame power should be higher when cutting the steel plate below 20 mm to speed up the cutting speed and make the cutting speed sufficient.

3. When cutting thick steel plate, mild carbonization flame shall be used to avoid melting collapse on the upper edge of the incision.

4. If the carbon content or alloy composition of steel is high, the flame power used should be higher.

5. When gas is used for cutting, the flame shall be adjusted to oxidation flame first, and then to neutral flame after cutting, so as to improve cutting efficiency.
