Which steel materials are suitable for laser cutting

2020-07-03

Carbon steel plate cutting: The maximum thickness of the carbon steel plate that the laser cutting system can cut is close to 20mm, and the slit of the thin carbon steel plate can be narrowed to about 0.1mm. Moreover, when laser cutting low carbon steel, the heat affected area is small, and the cut is smooth and vertical.

Stainless steel cutting: Laser cutting of stainless steel sheet is very easy, the maximum thickness can reach 4mm.

Alloy steel plate cutting: Most alloy steel plates can be cut by laser, and the quality of the trimming is good. But for tool steel and hot die steel with high tungsten content, there will be erosion and sticky slag during laser cutting.

Aluminum and alloy plate cutting: It can be melted and cut to obtain better cut surface quality. The cutting thickness of aluminum plate can be up to 1.5mm.

Cutting of other metal materials: Titanium and titanium alloys, nickel alloys, etc. can be cut by laser, but copper is not suitable for laser cutting.
